A recent twitter conversation between a Conservative and a non-descript illustrates perfectly the dangers of adopting truthiness as a guiding light and renouncing critical thinking.

Is FemmePatriot 4 real or just a front for a Republican PR campaign? I have no idea. But they’re certainly using an inspirational photo:

This conversation is rather interesting. I thought I should share it with you.

It seems that @FemmePatriot is simply trying to determine some kind of emotional response in this dialogue, bypassing any kind of logic. FemmePatriot makes a number of completely baseless statements, starting with “banned air traffic over Mecca due to Islam's claims that there is no magnetic fields in Mecca”. FemmePatriot then claims that 9/11 resulted in the greatest loss of life in the US, when it is clearly known that the Battle of Antietam claimed more lives. See for yourself, but you’ll have to start at the very bottom. The tweets are shown in order, with the latest first and separated on columns.

@Zamoca, who’s thinking I happen to know and understand, does not hate Muslims or the Islam, but disagrees with certain aspects of it. He does not see this “disagreement” as a reason to hate, make up facts

Though one of the participants in the above “dialogue” identifies himself as a libertarian, this exchange is, unfortunately, typical for most “debates” between Conservatives and Liberals, or between “Patriots” and “Progressives”, as they now prefer to be called. There is almost always some kind of appeal to emotion and ignoring simple facts.
